This scuba tank stands was originally designed to replace a corroded stainless steel stand that had failed, causing the tank to become dangerously unsecured. Scuba tank stands are constantly being exposed to corrosive salt water, and one made of a less noble metal will always be subject to crevice corrosion. However, a titanium tank stand will never rust or corrode because it is completely impervious to corrosion in the natural environment.
