This Allied Titanium anchor shackle is composed of Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) and is really strong, light and corrosion free. It is designed to be used where the shackle itself goes through the anchor shank and the pin goes through the anchor chain. This allows the shackle to swivel on the anchor shank, orienting itself to the pull on the chain. You will need to make sure your anchor shank has a slot or hole big enough for the shackle body to fit through.
Grade 5 titanium is a common aerospace titanium alloy famous for its high strength, resistance to fatigue and light weight. Every day we are manufacturing more an more marine parts from Grade 5. The ring around the head of the pin designates high strength titanium.
The shackle consists of Item #s 0019408(shackle body), 0013131(Cap Screw), and 0023992(Jam Nut).
