These nuts are Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) titanium and are TRUE TITANIUM(TM). They are Full DFAR (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation with American material), meaning they are manufactured in America from American melted and milled titanium. Grade 5 titanium is a common aerospace alloy that has been used in commercial aircraft for decades and a key component when working with composites or carbon fiber. Both carbon fiber and titanium are at the top of the galvanic scale which is why engineers specify titanium fasteners for use with carbon fiber and composites.
They are stronger, lighter and completely corrosion free, even in saltwater. These are structural, aerospace grade nuts with a minimum yield strength of 128,000 psi (880 Mpa). If you are a drag racer, these are the nuts you want holding your dragster together. If you are a sailboat racer, these are the nuts you want holding your mast up. They are completely different than stainless steel, over three and a half times stronger while weighing 44% less.
